Yes, the time has come to reveal the 100% complete version of Rental Rumble. Welcome back to the future and beyond! Below you will see detailed shots of Rental Rumble (Base Game), the 1999 Expansion, and the VHS Return Box. Without further ado, check it out and let us know what you think. We think it turned out better than we ever imagined.

And there ya have it folks! The only thing better will be getting your copy in hand soon. I'll post an update this weekend with our exact plan for sending out the BackerKit Surveys where you can customize and finalize your orders before we charge shipping and send.

If all goes according to plan, you can expect those surveys early next week. I'm aiming for Tuesday, March 29th and you'll have 2 weeks to sort it all out.

Rental Rumble Has Arrived!

Great news everyone, Rental Rumble has arrived!

We recently received all the boxes and went through them to ensure everything was there and undamaged. All looks good and in order. 

Right now we're taking new pictures of the game and all the components and it's looking really, really sharp. I think you will all be pleased with the final game. It's cooler than we both imagined. 

Here are some celebratory picks from the drop off, and of Josh picking them up from the San Francisco BackerKit office.

We'll send another update very soon with the new pics we are taking so you can get a really up-close look at the final game. 

Shortly after that we will be sending out a BACKERKIT SURVEY which will allow you to:

• Customize and add-on items to your order
• Provide your preferred shipping address
• Pay for shipping

Please stay tuned for more details about your survey in the coming week or so. We're working on having that set up and sent out ASAP. BackerKit makes the whole process very simple.

Production complete.

We have some very exciting news.

Production for Rental Rumble is now 100% complete. 

We're beyond thrilled to reach this milestone and are so very thankful for everyone's patience as we:

•  Went through the game manufacturing process for the very first time.
• Both became first-time fathers with also working full time jobs.
• Navigated the production hurdles presented by the global pandemic. There were/are a lot.

It's been a learning experience to say the least, but here we are.

Now for a few important updates:

• Due to the effects the pandemic has had on manufacturing and shipping our quote for production was ASTRONOMICAL. Rest assure, the quality of the game and game components was not affected at all and this will not affect your experience receiving your copy at all. It is very important to us that you get Rental Rumble exactly as it was intended. Completely rad. I'll detail what happened exactly in a future update before we sent backer surveys, but the short term plan is that we negotiated for a much smaller print run of just 600 units. Enough to fulfill all orders and have about 100 extra copies to sell.

•  Rental Rumble is currently at our manufacturer in 15 boxes ready to ship. Due to the Lunar New Year (Happy New Year!), the manufacturer is closed until February 15th. So nothing can happen until then. The quote we got just before Lunar New Year holiday was also ASTRONOMICAL and we were advised to re-quote after the 15th. So that's what we are planning to do. We will update you all once we finalize shipping details.

• We had to outsource the VHS boxes and the quarter machine bubble pieces ourselves so once we get the rest of the components from our manufacturer we will have to pack and ship ourselves. Not to worry, we have access to a cool warehouse space and will make it a party! Pizza and stuff.

• Once we receive the product, we will take some pics and then send out backer surveys where everyone can finalize their orders, add items to their order (optional), provide shipping information, and pay for shipping. Then that will be that!

Final Production Has Officially Begun!

We'd like to wish everyone a happy new year and hope y'all had a safe and relaxing holiday season. 

Over the past few weeks we've been communicating with out manufacturer finalizing all our dimensions, designs, and components. We are thrilled to announce that we are now officially in production! 

The manufacturer estimates around 3-4 weeks for production and then they will ship to us.

Once we have the games in hand, we will be taking some new product pictures and sending out our BackerKit surveys to collect shipping and give you an opportunity to add items to your final orders (we have a few surprise items we think you will like!).

So please stay tuned for more specific updates regarding shipping soon. Until then, please take a look at some of our final proof images to get an idea of what the final game will look like. 

These are all just proofs still. Once we get our first complete box in the mail and in hand, we will share images of that with you all. We are pretty excited about the final result and can't wait to get this game in your hands soon.

White Samples & Plastic Components Approved!

Hey everyone, we've got some exciting production updates to share with you all today.

We recently got a package in the mail that we are VERY excited about.  It consists of all our White Samples, colored plastic components, and game box. For those not privy, White Samples are plain white components for us to approve in regard to the materials used and the dimensions of all the components. In this case, our White Samples are of the following:

• Game Board
• Cards
• Card Tuck Box
• Player Cards
• Rule Booklet

Additionally, we got the following to approve as well:

• Colored Player Pieces
• Colored VHS Token
• Colored Late Fee Tokens (without the paint job)
• Colored VHS Return Box (comes w/ the Deluxe edition)

Since we've received this package, we've already been in contact with our manufacturer to detail some small dimensional changes we needed in order to fit everything snug in the VHS boxes. Those changes have already been approved and we are moving forward at a quick pace now.

So what's next?

Within the next week or so we will be getting printed proofs of all our final designs and layouts to approve. We are told they are already in the mail! Once we get those we will share some pictures. If all checks out and we approve the printed proofs, we will head into final production. So basically we are getting really, REALLY close to finishing this game.

Things are going real smooth right now and production is moving fast. Stay tuned for more updates as we get them. You all will be the first to know!
